The portfolio

From idea to operational tool

Every tool sits on two axes: its phase in the flood risk management cycle (EU Floods Directive vocabulary) and its maturity (TRL bands). Each card states what it takes to pass the next gate — that statement is also the invitation to partner.

The board: phase × maturity

PreventionPrototypeTRL 4–5

FluvioMorph — River Morphology Atlas

27+ published methods for river classification and prediction, run side by side with an agreement dashboard and validity screening. Manual input or HEC-RAS output with automatic reach segmentation.

Next gate: Validate HDF5 reading against a real .p##.hdf file; confirm the flagged [CHECK] constants against source publications.

PreparednessOperationalTRL 8–9

Dam-Break Knowledge Base

An interactive knowledge base built from 19 dam-safety standards (Iranian, FEMA, ICOLD): a 10-step engineer roadmap and a synaptic graph of 2,100+ nodes.

PreparednessPrototypeTRL 4–5

Oman Cyclone Impact — Shaheen 2021 Demo

A trilingual WebGIS replaying Cyclone Shaheen (2021) on real track, gauge and basin data, with synthetic forecast layers for illustration. It shows the shape of the proposed decision layer — not a forecast.

Next gate: Phase 0 of the proposal: data audit and a data-access agreement, then a hindcast of past cyclones with archived forecasts on one pilot wadi (gates G1, G2).

Seeking: Hydrometric data access & a research partner

Flood a Real River — 3D

Raise the water over real photogrammetry terrain and watch inundation spread — a wetland reach and the Grand Canyon, in the browser.

Next gate: Couple the water surface to actual hydraulic results instead of an illustrative level.

PreparednessConceptTRL 2–3

Dam-Break Hydrograph Calculator

Next tool: breach parameters and peak outflow from the five established equation families (MacDonald 1984 · Von Thun & Gillette 1990 · Froehlich 1995/2008 · Xu & Zhang 2009), compared side by side with uncertainty bands.

Next gate: Implement and verify against the published case datasets.

Scour & Erosion Assessor (HEC-18)

Planned: reach-scale erosion depth and bridge-pier scour to FHWA HEC-18 (5th ed.), with method-validity flags per reach.

ProtectionConceptTRL 1–2

Hydraulic Structures Designer

Planned: drop structures, retaining walls, gabions and riprap — analysis aids with explicit standards references. Outputs support, never replace, the judgment of a qualified engineer.
